The Bear Hotel is one of England’s oldest coaching inns and has been the focus of hospitality since 1464 in the quintessentially English market town of Hungerford, in the Royal County of Berkshire.

Sympathetically restored and refurbished, The Bear Hotel has thirty-nine individually designed bedrooms, award-winning restaurant and bar, conference and wedding facilities with private entrance, and gardens set on the banks of the River Dunn. The Bear even boasts its own small island. Whilst retaining it’s olde world charm, it now boasts free WIFI, flat screen TVs in all bedrooms and parking for over 50 cars.

Just over one hour by direct train from London, The Bear Hotel is ideally situated be it for short breaks, visiting friends or relatives or indeed on business.

The General Manager, Colin Heaney and his team extend a warm welcome and aim to provide you with the highest levels of service whilst offering excellent value for money.

We have dog friendly accommodation and welcome all dogs with well behaved owners !
